The example above is 544x416, the regular window screen size of VX Ace.This will help you with mapping and placement! (More info on that later!) Mini Tutorial: This example is with VX Ace’s dimensions (32x32). MV uses 48x48.ĭimensions are important for placement and eventing/programming! This is important because each program (XP, VX Ace, MV, etc.!) uses different dimensions.Įxample: VX Ace uses 32x32. Important Question: What rpg maker program are you using? Parallax Mapping! (You can do this with tiles or no tiles!) However this may caused more of a noticeable "stretched" effect accordingly.Anonymous sent: Hi, do you happen to know where I may find some information on how one could make the background/enviroment in RPG Maker without needing tiles? I feel like making tiles is a cumbersome task, whereas the alternative seems a little less stress inducing. * Alternatively, if you wanted to quickly maximize the game window to fit the size of the desktop, you could simply check the "Max" box. If a game is running at the next higher-up resolution of 640x480 that VxAce games are sometimes set to do, then try doubling it to 1280x960 for optimal results. So, if for example, a RPG Maker game is running in default 544x416, then doubling it so the size is 1088x832 may yield good optimal results visually. I'd suggest to stick to standard gaming width and height dimensions, or if you know the original size of the game window, then perhaps doubling, or possibly triple if your monitor and graphics-card is able to accomodate, the number may give best results of keeping the graphics in proper perspective (rather than being stretched to look too strange or may become too blurry with odd dimensions). For example, if you put in 800 and 600 in the Width and Height fields accordingly, then click on the "Set Size" button, you should see the game window be resized to that. * You should now be able to manually set the Width and Height for the selected game window to what you want. If done right, you may then see the name of the game appear in the text field to the left of the crosshair-icon (in our example, it would show as "Test1"). Left-mouse-click-and-hold then drag-&-drop the crosshair over top of the actively running game window. * Towards the bottom-right corner of the utility is what looks to be a crosshair/target icon. To ensure all currently running programs are seen, you could click on the "Refresh" button, which is good to do if you closed and restarted a game. * Run the Scott's Window Resizing Utility. * Run the game (in this example, we'll say the name of the game is "Test1"). To give you an example of how you might be able to easily use this utility with a RPG Maker game All that being said, I've used it fine without any problems. And I may suggest to avoid using the Flash button on the utility. Use with caution and at your own risk of course. Would like some help here, like to know if there is a way to play rpg maker game in window mode, but we can resize it so it is not that Small ~~Ī window-resizer utility that seems to work ok with RPG Maker games is Scott's Window Resizing Utility:

Note : I wanted a way to make the game look big only & it is in window mode, it might mean not resize in the end, like playing it in "maximum" mode, the default window mode is too small too see, dont mind pixel tear too, since enlarging make everything lose detail.Įxample : like we are playing ps2 game using Emulator, where we can resize that window on how big & small, is best if this can be done, I am looking for help on making the game look bigger.

Hi, after searching online and a lot of testing, I found out 1 way to fix full screen without being stretch is to go to the graphic card control panel and set those " no scale, aspect ratio, etc" things.īut since someone introduce me the software "Sizer", said can change the resolution, I have tried, they just make the window bigger by adding black image to the background, game itself is not re-sized at all.
